This national law gives donors liability protection against any harm to the recipients by the donor product. Protection applies when donor commits no act of gross negligence or malice when product is donated.

General
Food products must be in edible condition.
Food products must not be subject to any recall.
Foods will be handled according to procedures from the U.S.D.A.
Meats, Poultry, Fish:

Product will be in original packaging, dated and appropriately labeled

Product will be frozen or kept refrigerated on or before the expiration date
Dairy Products
Condition
Product must be in original packaging, dated and appropriately labeled

Refrigerated product must be stored between 32 and 40 degrees.

Non-Acceptable Conditions
Damaged or compromised packaging resulting in leakage or the loss of sanitary barrier protection
Fresh Produce

Repackaged product must be securely wrapped in food-grade packaging
Non-Acceptable Conditions
Decayed or otherwise unfit product
Baked Goods
Condition
Product must be packed in food-grade packaging with appropriate labels (including ingredient text) for each bakery type
Handling and Storage
Store in cool, dry, clean area while awaiting pickup

Moldy, damaged or otherwise unfit product
Prepackaged Non-Perishable Food and Non Foods

Fully intact original containers with legible dates, codes and label information
