Garden Share

CFS's Garden Share was created to raise, gather & preserve locally grown produce. Many local farmers allow CFS volunteers to gather produce out of their fields. Whether planted specifically for CFS, or surplus harvest, all is gladly received.

Many thanks to Munson Farms, & Cultiva, for their generous donations of growing space and vegetables over the years.

Cannery Project

Fifteen years ago, Community Food Share, in partnership with Bishop's Storehouse, the Aurora, Colorado Cannery (operated by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints), began a canning project. CFS supplies volunteer support and product to be canned, and the LDS Church provides use of the facility, cans, product, and supervisory assistance from its membership.

Thanks to the generosity of the LDS Church and the long-time commitment of our volunteers, this project has made a substantial contribution to those in need of food. Through the years, 10,000 volunteer hours at the Cannery have produced and distributed over 500,000 pounds of canned goods, and utilized literally tons of produce that might otherwise have been discarded due to over-ripening or impracticality of distribution. The work is hard, but satisfying and fun!
