Financial Support Options Our federal tax ID# is 74-2227731
Contributions are tax exempt 501(c)3
CFS welcomes and greatly appreciates any financial donation to aid us in our mission. No donation is too big or too small. We are a 501(c)3 charitable organization under the Internal Revenue Code, and as such, donations to CFS are fully tax deductible.
Monetary donations go further than food donations because we can obtain most food just for the cost of the freight, and we can also purchase food at wholesale cost; so your dollars spent at retail grocery stores are multiplied when you give them to CFS instead. One dollar buys 4 meals!
If you would like to donate by credit card, please click on the Donate On-line button. Be advised that we do use encryption software, and your confidential information is secure. We do not share your personal information with any outside parties, and we do not sell our mailing list to anyone.

Please consult your financial/tax advisor for details on each of these giving options, as each has different tax implications. Then, if you are interested in feeding the children of tomorrow, please call Terry Tedeschi, Development Director, at (303) 652-3663 ext. 207, or e-mail ttedeschi at communityfoodshare.org
Stock Gifts
Gifts of stock can be especially wise, because you will not owe taxes on the capital gains of the donated stock, you may take the charitable deduction on the full value of the stock as of the day you transfer it, and the recipient may take advantage of any increased market value upon the sale of such stock.
A Memorial gift is a thoughtful and meaningful way to mark the passing of a loved one. We are always honored to help our donors acknowledge these significant events. Based upon the individual's past interests or community activities, a food bank may be a good fit. It is a gift that continues to give back.
To recognize an individual, please send a note telling us that your gift is being made in memory of or honor of a particular individual. In addition to the letter we will send to you to acknowledge your thoughtful donation, we will also send a letter to the individual's family your gift commemorates. The amount of your gift will not be included in the notice. Please provide us with the full name and address of the person/s you would like us to notify.
Cars
If you have an old car you'd like to donate, we work with Cars for Colorado, a non-profit organization that refurbishes donated cars and auctions them off. The net proceeds can be donated to CFS if you designate us as the recipient. See www.carsforcolorado.org for more info.
Tax Deductible
All donations to Community Food Share are tax deductible (provided you receive no goods or services from us in return). CFS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization recognized by the IRS.
We provide acknowledgement letters/receipts with every donation.
Non-cash donations can be deducted at "fair market value" as assessed by the donor.
