It is estimated that Boulder and Broomfield Counties have over 50,000 residents living in poverty, and hunger is a real part of their lives, every day....that's enough people to fill up Folsom Field!
Community Food Share is dedicated to improving lives by turning your small acts of generosity and kindness into a big difference in the lives of hungry families and children in your community. Working through over 50 member agencies, Community Food Share efficiently delivered 6.6 million meals in 2009. CFS serves as a safety net for those who are hungry in Boulder and Broomfield Counties. Also, as part of the Feeding America network, Community Food Share can provide four meals for each dollar contributed. CFS provided 6.6 million meals in 2009 (24% more than in 2008). In order to sustain activities at this level, we need your help! Please join us in our mission to ensure that all people in Boulder & Broomfield Counties do not go hungry. 95% of your donation goes to program services. We can provide 4 meals for every dollar donated.
Community Food Share ranked 11th in the nation among all the Feeding America food banks in 2008, for pounds of food distributed per person in poverty.
CFS ranked in the 97th percentile among all the Feeding America foodbanks in America in 2009 for pounds delivered per person in poverty. We ranked in the 98th percentile for the percent of nutritious food supplied. |
Recognition
CFS won a 2007 Hunger Champion Award from the Colorado Anti-Hunger Network.
CFS's Feeding Families program won the NOVA Award from The Community Foundation serving Boulder County, in the Health and Human Services category, in year 2005.
Community Food Share's CEO, Jim Baldwin, received the Local Hero Award on Sept. 2, 2009, presented at the Naturally Boulder Days 2009 conference. |
